Police: Unauthorized barbershop operation in back of Detroit school leads to shooting

A man died Friday after he was shot at an unauthorized barbershop in the back of a Detroit school, police said. Police said the victim arrived at a local hospital around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2025, with a gunshot wound. The driver who brought him to the hospital said the shooting happened at Charles Wright Academy of Arts and Science at 19299 Berg. Police discovered that a janitor was running an unauthorized barbershop out of the back of the school.
