Watch: Sterling Heights officer rushes through Walmart to save 5-month-old baby from choking

A Sterling Heights police officer’s quick actions helped save a 5-month-old baby.  Sterling Heights Police Officer Edwar Talia responded to the Walmart off Van Dyke Avenue on Nov. 1 at around 8:30 p.m. for a report of an infant choking and had stopped breathing. Newly released bodycam video showed Talia running across the Walmart to find the mother with her 5-month-old child, who appeared not to be breathing. He then began giving continuous back blows to the infant. The baby’s airway was then cleared, which led to the child breathing on their own again.
