Detroit volunteers distribute corned beef, groceries to families ahead of Thanksgiving

The Grassroots Detroiters Community Center held a Thanksgiving food giveaway on Detroit's east side, distributing corned beef brisket and groceries to 1,000 families. Long lines formed as neighbors, affected by rising food costs and economic stressors, expressed gratitude for the support. Volunteers, including Mrs. Dee and Pastor Wendy Paige, emphasized community solidarity and the importance of helping one another in challenging times. The event, in partnership with Grobbel and Faygo, highlighted the ongoing spirit of community giving.
