BCBS extends coverage for 1-year-old battling genetic disorder

A Waterford 1-year-old living with an ultra-rare genetic disorder could lose her shot at lifesaving treatment if Blue Cross Blue Shield and Michigan Medicine don’t reach a new contract by June 30th. Her family reached out to our me for help. Now, BCBSM says they’ll extend the family’s coverage. “Spend one single 24 hours with her and see what we deal with daily,” Kayleigh Dunn, 1-year-old Lorelei Dunn’s mom, said.
